MART-1, also known as Melan-A is a gene expressed in melanocytes and most melanoma cells. It codes for antigenic epitopes recognized by tumor-reactive CD8+ T cells. Ignyte Bio offers HLA-A*0201-restricted anti-MART-1 CD8+ T cells generated against the MART-1 26-35 peptide containing a leucine substitution at position 27 (ELAGIGILTV). These T cells also specifically recognize the wildtype MART-1 26-35 peptide (EAAGIGILTV) presented by HLA-A*0201.
